New Putter

  • Personal

I have been shooting with the same blade putter for as long as I can remember. I have also been putting poorly for as long as I can remember.

I read an article in Golf Digest that said to drastically change your putter to break your bad habits. Let’s hope it works. It got just about the largest and most obnoxious putter available, the Odyssey SRT Tri-Ball. I was hitting it very well at the store, but I’ll have to wait a few months to use it on the course. Look out Jen!

Projects at Home

  • Personal

It must have been 6 months ago when I moved into my “new” house. Of course there are tons of loose ends to tie up….still. I dedicated some time Sunday and Monday to take care of a couple of them.

All of our movies were still in boxes on Sunday morning. I got some drywall screws and some stock shelving and went to work. I bought some sawhorses, and finally had a chance to use the circular saw I got from Kelly’s parents for Christmas. It has a laser guide, which I’m not sure how I lived without. The shelves turned out well and we alphabetized our movies, from “Air Force One” to “Who’s Harry Crumb“. We’ll see how long that lasts.

Monday night was the entertainment center night. Behind it was a hideous mess of cables. With the computer, cable box, PS2, TV, receiver, etc., there was at least 2 or 3 cords. I finally fed them all through the proper channels in the TV stand and velcro’ed up all the extra. I also added some new speaker stands I bought and got my Harmony remote working properly (with the help of Logitech level 2 tech support). Tim recommended this remote to me and it works great. It uses macros so that all of your equipment will power up and go to the proper settings with the touch of one button. I haven’t had to use another remote since.

And as you can see, Lucy kept he eye on the neighborhood punks outside to make sure they weren’t up to any hijinks. Those crazy kids with their rap music and their crystal meth.

I stood up in a couple of weddings last month (you know who you are). I never thought I would actually use my cameraphone, but it does come in handy sometimes. Here are two great examples (and a good excuse to show off the new WP plugin, Lightbox JS)

Happy Jeebus is way, way, way too creepy.

Faithful blatti.net viewers,

I am now posting on ihatemycubicle.com I am going to divide my time to post at both sites. There are a few more authors there, so you will get a lot more of the same type of crap I post here.

Job be gone!

  • Personal

Ahh…today I had my annual review. I was told I was doing a good job, but before they could lay a measly 3% raise on me, I quit! This has been planned for a while, it wasn’t just spur of the moment. I will be starting my own company to work with Zero Access. Yes the website blows - that is one of my first projects. Jen and I had talked about starting a company (Matchbox Media) to do web consulting. Perhaps one day Matchbox Media will spawn from Matchbook Technologies. I am reasonably sure this will be the name of my new company. Here is a tentative logo.

Anyone have any better ideas for name or logo? Put it in the comments biatch!

Kelly’s family comes over and tells me there is a note on my car. Being convinced that all the people in my building are petty and have nothing better to do than watch me like a hawk and criticize every action, I knew that this note was going to be funny. It completely exceeded my expectations. The general vibe of the note was that I wasn’t parked far enough forward in my spot. As expected, punctuation was horrible and the double underlining appeared under words that needed no emphasis. Everything was spelled properly, so it was a small step above what I am used to dealing with. As you guessed, I was parked dead center in my spot, and the person who wrote me the note decided to park over the line, assumedly in some sort of pseudo-retarded attempt at teaching me a lesson. It was so funny I had to take a picture. Note the amount of room behind my car, in combination with the room left behind his/her/its car. Click it for a large version. (Note - Their car looks deformed because it is a compilation of two pictures)

So many ideas of how to respond ran through my head, but between the shock, the laughter, and the knowledge that my witty response would be over the head of whoever wrote me this note, I said nothing. Now at least I will get a laugh every time I see these people. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

Free PSP

Ok - I never believed in this crap until my Dad actually saw evidence of something showing up. Here is the scheme. You click here, you sign up for one of the offers. I signed up for Blockbuster online. You get a discounted rate and I was planning to do it anyway. You get 5 people to sign up and they send you a Playstation portable. It is a pretty sweet deal. And yes - you will have to wait weeks to get it, but apparently it eventually comes. The magazines are a good deal too.

So sign up for something and whore it out on your website - you will get free crap! Oh yeah - If you sign up for something I will give you a free chipshirts t-shirt and buy you a beer the next time I see you. Support your village idiot!

DFTtrikes.com part deux

  • Personal

You ever look at something you made and realize how crappy it is? I did this the other day. I run he website for DFTTrikes.com. The problem is, they make really cool stuff (go buy one) and the site doesn’t do the product justice. So I have embarked on yet another site redesign. If you want to see it in development stage, go here. I am planning on making it all metallic looking and it seems to be coming along nicely. Here is a shot of the tentative title logo.

By the way the flash intro that is up on the live site now was really planned to segway into the new version of the site, I just did it a while back and figured I would put it up since it was done.

If you want to see DFT and other cool stuff, the time in Chicago is soon. There are 2 big shows in Febuary. And if you print this off, you will save $1 off a new DFT Trike!
